There have been numerous continued aftershocks hitting the same Indian Ocean region, still continuing now, over three days after the initial disastrous magnitude 9.0 earthquake that hit off the west coast of Northern Sumatra. Within the last 20 hours there have been at least five strong earthquakes hit the region measuring 5.8, 6.1, 6.2, 5.6 and 5.7 magnitude.
