Believe it or not, Ice and I hooked up 5 years ago today - it's gone so fast! We're still just as googly-eyed with each other today as we were back then, and I'm sure we always will be.
Ice had a class this morning at NYU, after which we planned to go out somewhere to celebrate, but in the end we spent the entire afternoon playing Risk (a board game in which Ice beat the crap out of me ..this time) and generally enjoying each other's company. Just as well really, because the wind kicked up and it turned bitterly cold out - right now it's 16°F (-9°C) out there, and the windchill brings that down to a nasty 0°F (-18°C) - not the best for frolicking around outdoors.
Rather than mess about in our tiny kitchen brewing up something relatively edible, we decided to try ordering delivery from a local restaurant we discovered just recently, and what a good move that was! A real dinner, complete with fresh bread rolls (still warm from the oven), soup, a main and salad, and even a desert. So much better than standard takeout crap like pizza or chinese, which we generally avoid anyway.
It's been a pleasant, relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable day together - we're happy as two weasels in a basket with a tasseled pillow, and that's pretty damn happy.
The weasel illustration comes from Lynne Chapman's 'An Alphabet of Nursery Rhymes'
