graduated

graduation Hey. I passed all my exams: scored an A+ for both Business Law I and Intermediate Accounting I, an A for both Intermediate Accounting II and Cost Accounting, and an A- for Microcomputer Accounting Applications.

That last one was a shock - 70% of the final grade for that class was based on coursework (of which I got 100% for all 10 assignments) so I thought I'd get an A or A+ overall no worries, but the exam was absolutely terrible. Actually it wasn't that bad, but it was frustratingly ambiguous in the way some of the questions were phrased, and in many cases there were two possible correct answers out of four or five multichoice, so really you had to be a mind reader to pick which one the professor wanted (saying both options were correct was apparently not given credit, even though it was technically correct) so I'm pretty annoyed about that - it actually dropped my GPA slightly. Another student from that class I've spoken to got a B for it and he's really pissed as he had a 4.0 GPA up till then - according to him nobody in the entire class got an A (or an A+), which is harsh.

Anyway, I've now graduated with my Associate Degree (accounting major) with a final cumulative GPA of 3.94 which I'm reasonably happy with, although kind of annoyed at missing out on Valedictorian by so little. Whatever. Yay me.

My last exam was on Thursday afternoon, so the next morning IceQueen and I hopped on a plane for a few days break together at Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada. I'll write more about it in a day or so (including photos), for now I'll just say it was awesome just being able to spend some time together out of NYC and without the study / work distractions. We flew back to JFK airport on Tuesday evening, and I was back in class for the Summer semester at 8am the next morning (yesterday). eep. I'm studying Philosophy and Art History over this short semester - not that I really want to, but they are a few of the elective requirements for my Bachelors degree, so might as well get them out of the way sooner rather than later. Ok that's it for now.

..update : someone must have raised a stink about that one exam, as I received notice that my grade had been amended to an A instead of A-. Nice.

Congrats M, I envy you, I still have 2 exams left (and they're the hardest of the lot!)

good stuff bro. I came across your site on a google search. Surf has been pumping back here in NZ with big lows hanging off the east coast delivering solid swells 3 ft in Waitemata harbour

Good luck in NYC and keep posting your adventures.
Kingi

Thanks Arvind, and good luck for your remaining exams!

Cheers Kingi, always good to hear from a Kiwi. I saw a couple of pics on surf.co.nz from Wednesday of a dude getting barreled at Takapuna of all places! Crazy! Just checked the site again now - Raglan (my old local) is hitting 8 foot out at Indies, and it looks to be building still.. filth! No surf over here as usual..

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!

Well done bro!!!! God six years ago, who would have thought you'd be a wizz and I'd be a mum of two travelling the world????

Well, done!!!! XOXOX

Hey Mich! Thanks :) Yeah for sure, who woulda thunk? Where are you now and how's everything going there?

100% in all exams? Seems like your school is giving away the marks. Another example of the dumbing down of education. Just like this blog is talking about today, on the post 'The miseducation of John Doe.' www.amusis.com

No, Terry, not quite - I graduated in the top five students out several thousand graduating this year from my college, and I earned those grades, they weren't just given to me.

Terry, you're a tosser. "Dumbing down"? What did you graduate with, genius?

At any rate, Nereus, I would just like to say that "Terry" is a tosser. Furthermore, HE'S/SHE'S A TOSSER.

Sorry, it will stop in a minute.

*eh hem*

Nereus, glad you did well with finals and your degree! Yay for Nereus... by the way, don't listen to tossers.

:o) mua ha haaaaahhaaaaaaa

Thanks for the DaVinci Code Quests' help
